Kansas City Food Truck Catering for Corporate and Social Events

Kansas City takes its food seriously — and that's not just a barbecue story. Yes, KC BBQ is legendary, and yes, some of the best food trucks in the city serve slow-smoked brisket and burnt ends that rival any sit-down joint. But Kansas City also has a thriving international food scene, a farm-to-table restaurant culture anchored by the River Market and Crossroads Arts District, and an event-going community that expects food to be a genuine part of the experience. The Food Truck Hub works with vendors across all of it — from authentic KC-style BBQ trucks to gourmet tacos, Korean street food, handcrafted dessert carts, and everything in between.

Our food truck catering is fully customizable around your guest profile and event format. Planning a corporate event in the Crossroads or along the riverfront? Hosting a wedding reception at Union Station or a private event on the Country Club Plaza? Running a company picnic for 400 employees in Overland Park? We build the right vendor lineup for the occasion, handle all the logistics, and make sure the food lives up to what KC guests expect. Browse our catering menu options to see what's available.

Beyond the food, we put together the full event. Bar packages featuring local craft breweries alongside premium cocktail service. Tent packages and event rentals for KC's spring and fall outdoor season — the best months for events here, and also the months when afternoon thunderstorms roll through without much warning. On-site event staffing from load-in through breakdown. If you need it for your event, we either provide it or coordinate it.

We cover the full Kansas City metro — both sides of the state line. Missouri and Kansas, from the Crossroads and River Market to Overland Park, Leawood, Lenexa, and Lee's Summit. If your event is outside the urban core, the same quality of vendor network and planning comes with it.

Our Services in Kansas City

Food Trucks and Carts

Kansas City's food truck scene runs deeper than the BBQ reputation, though that's well-represented too. Our vendor network spans authentic KC-style slow-smoked BBQ trucks, Korean street food, elevated comfort food, gourmet tacos, wood-fired pizza, handcrafted desserts, and more. Every lineup is built around your event — guest count, dietary needs, cuisine preferences, and how long you want the service window to run. A mix of BBQ and non-BBQ options is consistently the most popular approach for KC events with diverse guest lists. See the full range of catering options.

Bar Services

Kansas City's craft beer and cocktail scene has grown into a serious part of the city's food identity. Our bar and beverage packages include local craft beer service alongside craft cocktail bars, premium wine service, and non-alcoholic signature drinks. Professional bartenders, full licensing coordination, and setup through breakdown are included. We can build a custom drink menu around your event theme, your brand, or a signature KC cocktail moment.

Rental Equipment and Staffing

Spring and fall are the best seasons for outdoor events in Kansas City — and also the seasons when weather moves fast. Every outdoor event package from us includes a weather contingency plan. Our event rental packages cover premium tent and shade structure installation, full lighting and sound rigs, lounge furniture, linen packages, and tables and chairs. On-site event staffing — managers, servers, brand ambassadors, and runners — is available for events of any size, from a 75-person rooftop dinner to a 600-person corporate picnic.

Entertainment

Kansas City has a deep live music heritage rooted in the 18th & Vine Jazz District and a vibrant current scene that spans jazz, blues, and contemporary live music. We bring that culture to your event with live bands, DJs, and specialty performers, 360° photo booths, interactive activation stations, and more. Whether you're planning a formal dinner or a First Friday-style outdoor gathering, we match the entertainment to the energy you're building.

Stress-Free Event Planning

Planning a Kansas City Event: What to Know

Kansas City is a two-state metro with a strong corporate base, a growing creative economy, and a food culture that punches well above the city's size. A few things that matter when you're planning an event here.

KC is a two-state market. Events in Overland Park, Leawood, and Lenexa are in Kansas; events in Kansas City proper, Lee's Summit, Independence, and Blue Springs are in Missouri. We operate across both states with vendor relationships throughout the metro. If your venue is on the Kansas side and your guests are coming from the Missouri side (or vice versa), that's a non-issue — we handle it routinely.

Spring and fall are the prime outdoor seasons. April, May, September, and October are when outdoor events in KC are at their best — comfortable temperatures, lower humidity, and genuinely beautiful conditions in parks, rooftop venues, and riverfront spaces. Both seasons also carry thunderstorm risk, especially in spring. Every outdoor event plan we build includes a weather contingency: a tent or covered structure, an alternate rain timeline, and clear communication with vendors on go/no-go decisions.

The corporate event market here is larger than it looks. Cerner (Oracle Health), H&R Block, Hallmark, AMC Theatres, Kansas City Southern, Commerce Bankshares, and dozens of mid-market professional services and healthcare firms run their corporate events across the KC metro. If you're planning a corporate event — employee appreciation, client entertainment, team celebration, or incentive event — we can size and structure a package around your headcount and your budget. Convention events at Bartle Hall / Kansas City Convention Center are also in scope.

BBQ is the backdrop, not the obstacle. Kansas City guests know BBQ. They've eaten at Joe's and Gates and Q39. Food truck catering here works best when it complements that culture — offering variety that a single BBQ pit can't provide — or when it brings BBQ in a format that's social and interactive rather than a sit-down plate. We'll help you frame the menu in a way that lands well with a KC crowd.
